While you are still wrapping your head around the start of winter, CCI Greenheart’s Work and Travel staff are already preparing for Summer 2013! CCI Greenheart staff and employers went on an exciting trip to Kiev, Ukraine and Chisinau, Moldova to interview students applying for 2013 Summer Work Travel Program.
Our job fairs are a one of a kind opportunity for students to meet their future employers and ask questions about their placements. It is also a great way for the employers to become familiarized with where the students come from – experience their countries, culture and try delicious local cuisine.
Kiev welcomed us with cold and slushy weather. For those who had not visited Ukraine for a while, some noticeable changes took place: opening of a new airport terminal and great football stadiums built for the UEFA 2012 cup Ukraine co-hosted with Poland. The food was delicious as always! Everyone enjoyed Ukrainian borshch and varenyky – Ukrainian staffed dumplings.
Then onto Moldova! Chisinau was tempting with its great wines and again delicious cuisine. CCI Greenheart staff and employers visited Milesti Mici – ancient underground wine cellars and galleries that extend for 250 km. The winery was in World Guinness Records as the largest wine collection in the world!
The job fair in both cities gathered over 300 excited students for many of which this was a first job interview in their life. The employers presented their businesses and took the time to answer students’ questions. CCI Greenheart is looking forward to having all of them on program this summer!
In the upcoming winter months CCI Greenheart will be interviewing students face to face in the following countries: Jamaica. Dominican Republic, Colombia, Turkey, Jordan, Slovakia, France and China.
